Name of Groom: Henco Scheepers

How did you meet:
We were in school together but I never noticed him. After school we met again in church and this time for sure it was love at second sight!

The proposal:
I always said I wanted to look pretty when he proposes, so my hubby to be arranged a photo shoot and asked me to be his wife in one of the picnic scenes. He gave me a handmade book with our real life fairytale in it and on the second last page he asked me to be his wife. The last page had a stunning vintage inspired ring attached to it and when I looked up from the book he was on one knee waiting for my answer!

What theme or atmosphere did you create on your Big Day:
For a girl that loves anything vintage the theme was obvious. The colours I decided on was dark pink, light purple and gunmetal silver and we decided on bringing in French words and feel to it, this made the day even more romantic than I ever dreamed.

What was unique about your wedding?
We had a fantastic string quartet that entertained the guests while we took photos in the lovely gardens. Our friends and family enjoyed our sweet table and Elegant Entertainment’s singing waiters made it a day to remember!

Describe your Table Décor/Flowers or Gifts to guests:
Our flowers were roses - cream, pink and purple and we had silver coloured moss that took my breath away! Our tables were done in the vintage colours and every seat had its own frame so that the guests could write a little note to the happy couple. The table names were French love names and the guests had a fun time trying to pronounce all the words. We also had homemade vintage newspapers, with details leading up to our big day! All around the venue there were photos of us throughout the years and romantic quotes describing our love for one another. The Master’s Voice Gramophone welcomed the guests with the feeling of love and romance in the air!

Describe your Wedding Dress:
My dress was made from lace with pearl detail, in an off white colour. The veil was long and the train of my dress incorporated exquisite pearl detail.

Describe your Wedding Cake:
Our cake was a coco chocolate three tier cake. One tier was decorated with diamond and pearl details and another with vintage ribbons. The cake topper was my favorite, with our initials in a lovely shaped design.

The Best thing about being a Bride:
The butterflies I got in my tummy when I walked to the church on my dad’s arm, and the amazing feeling I felt when I walked into church, down the aisle to the man I love.

The Best thing about being a Groom:
When the Church doors opened and I saw my soon to be wife walking down the aisle, seeing her glow and  just knowing that there is no one more special , more amazing, and more loving than the person walking towards you.

Highlights/Special/Funny incidents of the day:
Henco (the groom) snuck a kiss in church while the Pastor was busy preaching, everyone started laughing and we had a few shouts of hooray!

What have you learned from this experience:
That we have amazing friends and family and that they will do anything to see us happy.

Any advice you would like to give other bridal couples?

Have fun! Take every moment in because everything happens so fast and then all you have left are the memories made!
